10-Week Intensive Woodworking Course T&C
1. Course Structure & Commitment
1.1 The course runs for 10 consecutive weeks, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
1.2 Students are expected to attend all scheduled sessions. Missed sessions will not be rescheduled or refunded.
1.3 The course includes instructor-led lessons, individual mentoring, and personal project time.
2. Enrollment & Payment
2.1 A non-refundable deposit of AED 3,000 is required at the time of registration to secure your spot.
2.2 The remaining balance must be paid no later than September 20, 2025.
2.3 Payment details and invoices will be provided via email after your application is approved.
3. Course Fees
3.1 The standard course fee is AED 35,200.
3.2 An Early Bird rate of AED 32,500 is available until August 25, 2025, and includes a free hand tool starter kit valued at AED 1,215.
3.3 All prices include VAT where applicable.
3.4 The Makers Society reserves the right to adjust pricing for future cohorts without notice.
4. Refund Policy
4.1 The AED 3,000 deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances.
4.2 If a student cancels in writing within 7 days of payment, the course fee (excluding deposit) will be fully refunded.
4.3 If a student cancels before September 1, 2025, 50% of the course fee (excluding deposit) will be refunded.
4.4 No refunds will be issued for cancellations made on or after September 1, 2025, or after the course begins.
4.5 Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approved cancellation.
5. Materials & Tools
5.1 All timber, hardware, consumables, and workshop materials for scheduled projects are provided.
5.2 For the final personal project, a material allowance of AED 500 is included. Any cost above this will be charged separately.
5.3 Early Bird students will receive a free hand tool starter kit (details listed in the prospectus).
5.4 Students who register after August 25 will need to bring or purchase their own tools. A discounted kit may be purchased from The Makers Society.
6. Personal Projects
6.1 Students will design and build their own final piece during the course with tutor guidance.
6.2 Projects must be approved by the instructors to ensure they are achievable within the course timeframe and available materials.
6.3 Oversized, highly complex, or materially expensive projects may incur additional charges.
7. Studio Access & Safety
7.1 All work must be done during scheduled course hours.
7.2 Students are expected to follow all workshop safety protocols and instructor guidance at all times.
7.3 Repeated violations of safety rules may result in restricted machine access or, in serious cases, removal from the course.
8. Certification
8.1 Students who complete the full 10-week program will receive a certificate of completion issued by The Makers Society. The certificate is recognized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA)
9. Photography & Media
9.1 The Makers Society may take photos or videos during the course for promotional purposes.
9.2 Students who do not wish to appear in media must notify staff in writing before the course begins.
10. Accommodation & Travel
10.1 Accommodation is not included in the course fee.
10.2 The Makers Society can provide suggestions for nearby rentals or serviced apartments upon request.
10.3 Visa arrangements and travel logistics are the responsibility of the student.
11. Course Changes & Cancellation
11.1 The Makers Society reserves the right to make changes to instructors, project schedules, or course content if necessary.
11.2 If the course is cancelled by The Makers Society, all fees, including the deposit, will be fully refunded.

By submitting your application and completing payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
