Terms & Conditions – Chip Carving Masterclass with Bernat Mercader

Limited to 15 Participants

1. Registration & Payment

​

1.1 Registration Confirmation

​

Registration is confirmed only upon full payment of the workshop fee. This course is limited to 15 participants, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Makers Society reserves the right to decline or revoke registration at its discretion in cases of inappropriate conduct or misrepresentation.

1.2 Course Fee & Payment Methods

​

5-Day Masterclass Fee:

​

  • Early Bird: AED 2,700 (limited seats)

  • Standard: AED 3,000
     

Accepted payment methods:
 

  • Online payment via secure gateway (Stripe)

  • Bank transfer (upon request)
     

Your seat is not secured until full payment has been received.
 

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy
 

2.1 Refund Policy
 

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before the course start date: 50% refund.

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the course: Non-refundable.
     

2.2 No-shows & Early Withdrawal
 

No refunds will be provided for no-shows or early withdrawal once the course has begun.
 

2.3 No Transfers
 

Registrations are non-transferable to another person or future course.
 

2.4 Cancellation by The Makers Society
 

In the unlikely event that The Makers Society cancels the course, a full refund will be issued.
The Makers Society is not responsible for any other costs incurred, such as travel or accommodation.

 

3. Course Structure & Attendance
 

3.1 Course Content
 

The Chip Carving Masterclass will be led by Bernat Mercader. The Makers Society reserves the right to adjust the schedule or course structure in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
 

3.2 Attendance & Conduct
 

Participants are expected to attend all 5 days.

Late arrivals or disruptive behavior may result in removal from the course without refund.

 

4. Tools, Materials & Equipment
 

4.1 Materials Included
 

All required wood and consumables will be provided.
 

4.2 Required Tools
 

Participants are required to have one chip carving knife to take part in the course.
A recommended tool will be shared upon registration.
Knives may be purchased through The Makers Society in advance or at the start of the course (subject to availability).

 

Note: Tool sharing is not guaranteed. Bringing your own knife is strongly recommended.
 

5. Intellectual Property & Media Use
 

5.1 Intellectual Property
 

All course content, materials, and demonstrations remain the intellectual property of The Makers Society and Bernat Mercader.
Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is strictly prohibited without written permission.

 

5.2 Photography & Videography
 

The Makers Society may capture photos or video during the course for documentation or promotional use.
Participants who do not wish to appear in media must inform the team before the course begins.

 

6. Liability & Safety
 

6.1 Personal Responsibility
 

Participants are expected to use all tools responsibly and follow safety guidelines provided by the instructor.
The Makers Society and Bernat Mercader are not liable for personal injury or property loss during the course.

 

6.2 Physical Activity
 

This is a hands-on carving course that involves manual dexterity and repetitive hand motions.
By registering, participants confirm that they are physically able to engage in such activities.

 

7. Governing Law
 

This course and its Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

By registering for the Chip Carving Masterclass, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
