Woodworking Foundations Course T&C
Tuition and Fees

The total fee for the course is AED 7,850. This fee covers tuition, full access to our state-of-the-art machines and power tools, and all materials necessary for projects undertaken during the course.

A special Early Bird Discount fee of AED 7,150 is available for the first 4 bookings.

Hand tools are not included in the course fee. Students must bring a minimum set of hand tools. Those purchasing tools from The Makers Society also receive a 10% discount, applicable to future purchases.
Payments

The tuition fee is divided into two instalments:

AED 2,500 deposit at registration.

The remaining balance is due before the course begins.

Course Structure
-
The course is limited to 8 participants to ensure personalized instruction and maintain the quality of tuition.

Weekend Sessions:
-
Saturday and Sunday: 5 hours of tuition (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM). During these sessions, tutors are fully dedicated to engaging with students on a personal basis, ensuring that fundamental techniques are correctly understood and applied.

Weekday Workshop Hours:
-
Tuesday to Friday: 16 hours of workshop access (9:00 AM - 8:00 PM). Dedicated appointments will be scheduled to consolidate the knowledge gained during the weekend sessions. Outside of these appointments, students work under mentorship guidelines.

Resident Program Access

After the three-week course, students will receive one month of access to the workshop under the Resident Program for a maximum of 20 hours.

During this month, students may catch up on unused time from the course or start individual projects.

Course project completion falls under mentorship, while personal projects adhere to Resident Program rules, where students work independently.

Materials and Consumables

Materials and consumables for course projects are included in the tuition fee.

Additional materials and consumables for personal projects must be purchased separately.
Mentorship and One-to-One Tuition

Mentorship:

Mentorship is designed to encourage independent learning. Tutors provide general guidance and periodic feedback, empowering students to solve challenges independently.

One-to-One Tuition:

Personalized instruction is available for complex projects or challenges requiring focused tutor involvement.

Rates:

AED 170 per hour.
-
AED 1,600 for 10 hours.

AED 3,100 for 20 hours.

Attendance Policy
-
Participants must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 80% to complete the course and receive a completion certificate.

Make-up resources are available for unavoidable absences. Excessive unexcused absences beyond 20% may result in ineligibility for certification.
Code of Conduct

Participants must always behave with respect and courtesy toward instructors and peers.

Adherence to safety protocols and proper handling of tools and equipment is mandatory.

The Makers Society is committed to protecting your personal information. Data collected (e.g., names, contact details, emergency information) is used solely for course management and communication.

Personal data will not be shared without consent except as required by law. Participants may request access, corrections, or deletion of their data.
Photography and Video Consent

By participating, you consent to being photographed or filmed for educational and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be featured, please inform us in writing.
Change of Course Content

The Makers Society reserves the right to modify course content, schedules, or instructors as necessary. Participants will be notified of significant changes in advance. If changes substantially alter the course experience, participants may withdraw, with the possibility of a partial refund.
Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations made more than two weeks before the course start date will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the course start date are non-refundable.
