Modular Woodworking Course T&C

Pricing Structure

  • Upfront Payment: AED 10,250 for the complete course of seven modules.

  • Pay-per-Module: A deposit of AED 1,500 is due at the start of the course. The deposit will be credited toward the last module, but it is non-refundable if the student drops off before completion. Each module costs AED 2,000 and must be paid before it starts.

  • Basic Modules: Students can take only Modules 1 and 2 or Modules 3 and 4. The cost for these two modules is AED 4,250. After completing these initial two modules, students can decide to continue the modular course by paying AED 2,000 per additional module.

  • Flexible Schedule: Students can request to take a module outside the scheduled offerings for an additional fee of AED 500.

Refund and Rescheduling Policy

  • Cancellation Policy: A full refund is available if the course is cancelled within the first 7 days from the initial payment. No refund is applicable after this time.

  • Rescheduling: There is a one-time free rescheduling. Subsequent rescheduling or no-shows will incur an AED 200 fee per instance. Students must pay the rescheduling or no-show fee before proceeding with future classes.

Course Duration

  • The course duration is rolling, starting from the date of registration.

  • Each module is offered on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

  • The program must be completed within six months of enrollment. A one-time extension for an additional six months is available for AED 500.

  • Bookings can be made for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and are subject to an additional fee of AED250 per session.

Workshop Hours

  • Each module includes 8 hours of free workshop time.

  • Additional workshop hours can be rented at:

    • AED 45 per hour for space-only rental.

    • AED 170 per hour for one-to-one tuition.

  • Workshop hours for each module must be completed within two weeks after tuition.

  • Unused workshop hours will not be refunded or carried over beyond the course end date.

Personal Project

  • The personal project is conducted under the tutors' mentorship.

  • Mentorship: Students will receive general guidance and periodic feedback from tutors, who oversee progress and provide assistance as needed. Mentorship fosters independent learning and critical thinking while supporting the learner's growth.

  • One-to-One Tuition: This option provides focused, personalized instruction for specific skills or challenges. It must be paid separately and is not included in the personal project framework.

  • Students are responsible for purchasing their materials and consumables.

  • The personal project must align with the competencies acquired during the course. It should be achievable and agreed upon with the tutor before starting. Overly ambitious projects can lead to frustration, excessive reliance on the tutor, and a lack of confidence in the student's skills, ultimately undermining the course objectives.

Personal Project Mentorship

  • For Module 7, students will have access to 20 hours of Resident Program time over one month and under mentorship.

  • Note: Mentorship focuses on guiding students while encouraging them to work independently. For intensive, hands-on learning, students may opt for one-to-one tuition.

  • When required by the student, one-to-one tuition is available at the following rate:

    • AED 170 per hour for one-on-one tuition.

    • AED 1,600 for 10 hours of mentorship.

    • AED 3,100 for 20 hours of mentorship.

Attendance Policy

  • Students are allowed one free reschedule per module with at least 24 hours notice.

  • Further reschedules will incur an AED 200 fee per instance.

Tools and Materials

  • Core module materials are included in the program fee. Students must purchase materials for Module 7’s project.

  • Students must acquire their hand tools and are eligible for a 10% discount through The Makers Society.
