Discover the only immersive furniture making course in the UAE where you can master hand tools, learn machine joinery, and design your own project—all in 10 weeks.

In a world that moves fast, more people are turning to woodworking for something slower, more meaningful, and more real. Whether it’s the joy of shaping timber, the meditative rhythm of hand tools, or the pride of building something from scratch, woodworking offers a kind of creative grounding that’s hard to find elsewhere.
Over the past two years, The Makers Society has become a go-to space for hands-on learning in Dubai. With our 3-week Woodworking Foundations course and our Modular Course, a flexible program of seven focused modules, we’ve helped hundreds of students explore the craft at their own pace.
Now, we’re taking it to the next level with a new format:A 10-week immersive woodworking course that brings everything together into a single, transformative experience.
Why We Created the 10-Week Intensive Course
The Makers Society has spent tis spending a lot of energies building a reputation as Dubai’s leading woodworking school, and this course is the result of everything we’ve learned.
That’s exactly why we created our 10-week woodworking course in Dubai, a full-time, immersive experience for anyone ready to take the craft seriously.
We saw a need for something deeper than weekend classes or one-off workshops, something that gave students real time, real tools, and real outcomes. This isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about building confidence, competence, and beautiful furniture.

Whether you're a beginner or a self-taught maker looking to fill in the gaps, this course gives you a clear path from your first chisel stroke to your own custom-designed project.
What You’ll Learn
Over 10 weeks, you'll move through a carefully structured program covering:
Hand tool skills and sharpening
Traditional and machine joinery techniques
3D design and modeling with Fusion 360
Surface preparation, veneering, and steam-bending
Advanced finishing techniques
A final personal project you design and build from scratch

Everything is taught in small groups with 1:1 guidance from experienced tutors who are passionate about helping you succeed.
Why Take a Woodworking Course in Dubai?
It’s a question many international students ask:
Why Dubai?
Our answer is simple: because you’ll experience something truly unique.
Dubai is a modern, dynamic city that thrives on design, innovation, and diversity. While it doesn’t have a centuries-old woodworking legacy, that’s exactly what makes this course special. You’ll be part of a new creative movement, the first of its kind in the region.
Visa-free entry for most nationalities (up to 90 days)
Perfect weather from October to June
Centrally located between Europe, Asia, and Africa
World-class facilities in a purpose-built workshop
A vibrant creative culture emerging across Dubai

And beyond the studio, there’s so much to explore, from desert escapes to design districts and art events.
What You’ll Build
Throughout the course, you'll complete several hands-on projects that grow in complexity as your skills evolve. From shaping your own mallet to crafting joinery boards, veneered panels, and a final piece of furniture, you’ll leave with a portfolio of work you’re proud of, and the skills to continue independently.
What Our Students Say
“The Makers Society is unlike anything else in the UAE. This course taught me so much about tools and timber, but more importantly, it gave me space to build confidence.”— Sarah D., 2023 cohort
“You come in with zero knowledge, and walk away with a finished piece of furniture you built yourself. That’s an incredible feeling.”— Mohammed A.
