What is the Luban Bronze Spokeshave used for?

​

It is used for refining convex and concave surfaces after initial shaping with the bandsaw or coping saw. This is because the short planning surface makes spokeshaves easy to access such areas where a normal plane could never do. It is also often used to round square posts (i.e. to make round legs from square timber).
